Director of Client Services and Renewals

The Position:

The Director of Advertising Client Renewal Sales is a key member of the JAZD Markets (JAZD) Management Team. The JAZD Business Model is built on a tenet of clients for life and as such the Director will manage the most essential component of the overall business.

The Director of Advertising Client Renewal Sales reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Advertiser Client Contract Renewal Sales
    • Achieve 80%+ monthly renewal levels for total clients renewed
    • Achieve 90%+ monthly renewal bookings contract value levels for total potential contract value
    • Develop up sell and cross sell targeted marketing campaigns focused on increasing overall contract value within the installed base of clients
    • Develop and launch a new client kick-off process for all signed client contracts including client call, deliverables review and contract management
    • Assure that all marketing program clients receive all deliverables within their purchased program and develop the necessary triage steps to deliver 100% of the targeted results
    • Coordinate with Marketing to develop targeted marketing campaigns focused on client renewals and value delivered
  • Advertising Client Marketing Program Service
    • Build and manage a scalable Advertising Client Service team of 2-4 team members
    • Assure that all client contracts are met or exceeded for delivered results
    • Assure that all client product showcase listings, category leadership placement and all content and affiliated ads are live, valid and available within 24 hours of initial sale
    • Assure monthly client calls with all in-delivery clients by establishing programmatic  “touching with value”  outreach programs
    • Partner with VP of Finance to assure that all contracts are entered into both the JAZD contract management system as well as the JAZD financial systems and that all collections are received timely

The Ideal Candidate:

The selected individual will have a proven track record of managing advertising client relationships. This proven leader must have significant hands on experience with driving renewal sales and building client relationships into a long term asset for an organization. This results driven leader must have a deep understanding of lead generation, B2B marketing, search marketing and web technology. This person must have high enthusiasm, energy, strong communications skills, street smarts and interest in building a lasting entrepreneurial career.

Specific required experience:

  • 5-10 years of direct experience in driving renewal sales preferably within a lead generation, marketing services, advertizing services organization
  • Direct experience with lead generation, paid placement, search marketing and brand advertising marketing programs
  • Direct experience in selling and servicing marketing roles within product and service organizations and the ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding to their objectives
  • Proven experience in achieving 90%+ client renewals through high touch with value client services programs
  • Love of entrepreneurial and start up business operations environments
  • Strong affinity for listening and understanding client requirements and needs

A Degree with a concentration in Business Management, Marketing or Sales Management from a leading school is strongly suggested.

Compensation Package:

A six figure annual compensation package will consist of a competitive base salary, quarterly renewal sales bonus program, annual company performance bonus program, significant stock option grant, 401K and complete benefits including flex spending accounts, 3 weeks paid vacation and free parking.

Directory Sales Manager

Position Responsibilities:

Candidates must thrive in a high energy inside sales environment. You must be driven for success and willing to invest the time and energy necessary to insure your success. JAZD will provide qualified candidates with warm lead business development support as part of the sales program. You will be expected to make 50+ calls per day into warm leads that have expressed interest in JAZD’s directory marketing programs.

Successful candidates will have a track record of consistently meeting sales quotas, experience in online marketing, lead generation and media advertising. Qualified candidates must be eager to keep learning about online marketing and a tireless work ethic.

You must love online marketing, understanding why companies show up 1st in Google and how clients turn web leads into deals. You will be provided a dedicated business development telemarketer who will be your lead gen support. JAZD provide leading edge technology that provides you with active screen sharing so that you can show your prospects a real time virtual tour of the JAZD directory marketing program value.

Build a long term book of business at JAZD. Sell client into annual marketing programs and own their renewal year after year. Each year earn new commissions by renewing your accounts.

Desired Candidate Experience:

Marketing or Advertising background or degree preferred

  • 5+ years of inside sales experience preferably with an online marketing, display advertising or lead generation company
  • Love selling on the phone
  • Proven results in hitting weekly/monthly sales  and productivity quota’s
  • Internet/Web junkie – understands search engines, email marketing and website marketing
  • Street Smart” thinking (quick on feet), paint a clear picture of value on the phone
  • Cultural Fit (self starter, passionate, high energy, team player)
  • Good communication skills - written, oral, active listening – “C” level capable
  • Great knowledge of online marketing, lead generation and must be able to easily navigate online
  • Proven qualifying and closing skills

Compensation:

A compensation package will consist of a $35,000 to $45,000 a year base salary based on skills and experience, and 10% commission on all sales booked including renewal sales, 401K and complete benefits including flex spending accounts and free parking. Successful Directory Sales Managers are expected to earn six figures in total annual compensation.

Each qualified Directory Sales Manager is provided an existing group of renewal clients to jump start your renewal sales. Each Directory Sales Manager is expected to hit an annual sales quota of $500,000 in total annual bookings.

Java Software Engineer

Role and Responsibilities:

The Java Software Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of platform improvement at any level of the stack.  This includes some responsibility for managing data schema changes, application logic changes, and interface improvements.  The JAZD Marketing as a Service Platform is a SaaS offering built on an open source software stack that consists of MySQL, Hibernate, Java/Spring, SOLR and Freemarker.

In addition to day-to-day work enhancing the platform, the person in this role is a partner to the business, available to support the business by providing technical operational support to the sales and marketing efforts.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Coding and unit testing of new features and enhancements across all levels of the software stack from database to front-end.
  • Bug research and resolution on any issues reported from customers or the business.
  • Operational support to the sales and marketing organizations which may include data analysis, data movement, or third-party software integrations.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer programming in Java / J2EE.
  • 2+ years of professional experience developing hosted / SaaS applications.
  • Experience working on online products for external customers.
  • Object oriented discipline.
  • Flexibility with an ability to work in a fast-paced, focused, start-up work environment.
